Types of glazingbars and transoms/mullions

For windows and patio doors in the product families Complete, Extreme and Passiv there are different types of glazing bars and transom/mullions to choose from:

  • Detachable glazing bars are placed on the exterior of the windows and can be removed when cleaning. Available for windows with double and triple glazed insulation glass units.
  • Glazing bars inside the insulation glass unit. Available for windows with double and triple glazed insulation glass units.
  • Transoms/mullions can with an advantage be combined with detachable glazing bars. Made of wood for product family Complete Wood. Made of aluminium for all aluminium cladded windows.
  • "Optical glazing bars" are created in triple glazed windows by grinding the middle glass. They give a vivid expression to, for example, verandas and traditional facades.

All types of glazing bars, apart from "Optical glazing bars", are available in a narrow or wide version, see further below.

Narrow glazing bars

Here you can see the most common types of glazing bars. Depending on window type and glazing bars (detachable, inside the glass unit etc), there are often more possibilities available. With glazing bars inside the insulation glass unit you can accomplish many imaginative variations.
